Our Story
Founded May 15, 1904 in Pocatello, Idaho
Since 1904 Pocatello Council 892 of the Knights of Columbus has been part of the Catholic Community in Pocatello by participating in an international fraternal group of Catholic men who are in unity with the teachings and beliefs of the Catholic Church. We use our time, talents, and treasure to further educational, charitable, liturgical, youth, family, and life-affirming works in our parish, community, state, nation, and world.
The Venerable Father Michael J. McGiveny founded the Knights of Columbus in large part to provide assistance for those left behind when a family breadwinner suddenly died. This continues in the highly rated insurance programs of the Order.
We act in unity as we know that many working together are stronger than one working alone.
We are patriotic citizens of our respective nations. We are devoted to God and our country and will stand up for both in public and in private. The members of Pocatello Council 892 of the Knights of Columbus remind the world that Catholics support their nations and are among their greatest citizens.
